GELA HOTELS

The village of Gela is located in the Central Rhodope mountains at 1500 m above sea level just at the foot of the most imposing peaks of the Rhodope mountains – peak Golyam Perelik (2191 m), peak Orpheus (2188 m) and peak Tourlata (1825 m). The village is located 6 km from Shiroka Luka, 18 km from the famous Pamporovo ski resort and 30 km from the city of Smolyan.The foundation of Gela is lost in time but  artifact are showing it has been inhabited by the Thracians. According to a legend the village of Gela is the birth place of Orpheus. Each summer the village of Gela hosts a national bagpipe music contest.
