This motorcycle trip is designed to take you through the best mountain passes in Bulgaria and Romania - Petrohan pass, Shipka pass with magnificent views from its 1190 m summit and the Shipka Memorial representing one of the most important victories in Bulgarian history, Transfagarashan and Transalpina - the highest road in Romania, located in the Parâng Mountains that will amaze you with its breathtaking high altitude natural setting. Transfagarashan on the other side is one of the most spectacular roads inthe world, climbing at about 2000 meters above sea level, crossing the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. You will enjoy its 90 km of twists and turns running north to south between the highest peaks of the Southern Carpathians. You will visit the famous Belogradchik Rocks Natural phenomenon in northwest Bulgaria, declared a natural landmark for its impressive sandstone and limestone rock formations, the world-famous Dracula castle in Bran, the beautiful town of Sibiu, the intriguing Buzludzha UFO, and the old capital of Bulgaria - Veliko Tarnovo, with its imposing Tsarevets Fortress, citadel of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom.

Dracula castle via Transfagarashan » 7 DAYS

DAY 1 SOFIA-PETROHAN PASS- BELOGRADCHIK ROCKS - VIDIN (200 km)

The tour will start with a ride from Sofia to Belogradchik via Petrohan pass. You will go through a combination of beautiful windy mountain roads and open country roads. Lunch and sightseeing of Belogradchik Fortress and Belogradchik Rocks natural phenomenon. Continue to the town of Vidin located on the bank of Danube river. Accommodation in Vidin.

DAY 2 VIDIN - RAMNICU VALCEA (130 km)

After breakfast, you will visit the medieval Baba Vida fortress in Vidin and cross the Bulgarian-Romanian border via the Danube river bridge. The ride will continue on small cross-country open roads heading to Craiova, Romania. Lunch and break in Craiova. Final destination for the day is Ramnicu Valcea. Accommodation and sightseeing.

DAY 3 RAMNICU VALCEA - LACUL VIDRA - JINA -POIANA - SIBIU (380 km)

After breakfast you will conquer the Carpathians going through the beautiful Cozia national park and along several lakes – Bardisor, Vidra, Oasa. You will stop for lunch on the way and continue on remote mountain roads via the picturesque villages of Jina and Poiana Sibiului to the final destination of the day – Sibiu. Accommodation and sightseeing of Sibiu.

DAY 4 SIBIU - TRANSFAGARASHAN - BRAN CASTLE (210 km)

After breakfast, you will be heading east to the foot of Southern Carpathians where you will hit the famous Transfagarashan road - the second-highest paved road in the country after the Transalpina. It starts near the village of Bascov, (Pitești), and stretches 90 kilometers. You will experience an amazing ride with a lot of stops on the way for taking pictures and to inhale the fabulous mountain scenes. After Transfagarashan pass, you will continue to the village of Bran which is the final destination for the day.

DAY 5 BRAN - BRASOV - TARGOVISHTE - RUSE - SEVEN GENERATIONS WINERY (200 km)

After breakfast, you will visit the famous Dracula Castle. You will continue to Brasov and if time allows you will stop for a coffee or lunch on the main pedestrian street in the center of Brasov. Your ride will continue to Targovishte going on open cross-country roads. In late afternoon you will cross the Bulgaria-Romania border via Ruse and continue to Seven Generations Winery in Bulgaria.

DAY 6 SEVEN GENERATIONS WINERY - VELIKO TARNOVO - TROYAN PASS - STAROSEL (250 km)

After breakfast, you will be heading towards the beautiful town of Veliko Tarnovo – the old capital of Bulgaria. You will visit Tsarevets fortress - medieval stronghold located on a hill with a scenic vies towards Veliko Tarnovo. After lunch you will continue to the village of Starossel via the picturesque Troyan pass. Accommodation in Starossel SPA and winery with outdoor and indoor swimming pool.

DAY 7 STAROSEL- STRELCHA - PANAGURISHE - SOFIA (130 km)

On the last day of the trip you will be riding through the open hilly roads around the town of Panagyurishte going to Sofia. If time allows you will stop at Strelcha mineral water outdoor swimming pool. Returning the motorbikes in our rental shop.
